How to Prevent Chronic Pain |

Maintaining a disciplined quality of life will definitely prevent or delay chronic pain. |
| |
|
|
Health check up - every two to three yearly especially after 45 years of age. |
|
|
|
Diet - Use of High protein (dry fruits in limited quantity), |
| |
|
- Use of high fiber in diet- ex.Fruits or Salads. Diabetics on advise of physician |
|
| |
|
- Use low fat or avoid oily or junk food |
|
| |
|
- Supplementary calcium after age of 50+ (especially for women) |
|
|
|
|
Regular exercise - walking at least 30 minutes a day or cadio excercises under supervision of physician. |

|
|
Weight control - avoid obesity of any kind as more fat adds more load on spine, Heart, lungs, kidney, liver and all organs. |
|
|
|
Alcohol - Only one peg (30 ml) per day is good for coronaries. |
|
|
|
Smoking - Avoid or Stop- Blood supply of organs or limbs is reduced due to tobbacco |
|
|
|
Controlled body movement such as twisting of body improperly, lifting of objects, dancing without guidance or trainer can be dangerous especially senior citizens as they are prone to fractures of bones. |

|
|
Ergometery - Use chair with lumbar support and listen to light music while working or long hours for in office |
|
|
|
Relaxation habits - music, playing with grand children, yoga |
|
|
|
